According to the SM, the part that obviates the need for loosening the cables for inspection is 415-52122. Oddly, Univair lists the quadrant it sells under that number, but when the part arrived (for me, anyway) it had a different number on it, but I can’t remember what it was. From the stories I’ve heard, those cables fray quickly on the old quadrant. I’d say your A&P should look at those cables every year. A failure would be catastrophic!

In 1964, VEST Aircraft Industries control quadrant part # 52137 (per logbook) was installed on the control column in my ercoupe. Would anyone know if this installation satisfied the concerns of the referenced memorandum/AD? I do not have access to referenced drawings? Thanks, Lcm
