I have a C-85 with the O-200 crank and a 7149 prop. I cruise at 2400 with the throttle back a little. At full throttle I get a little over 2500 rpm. So it sounds that a 7150 might have a little lower top RPM. My static is about 2225. With a light airplane (me and not full fuel) I climb at 1200 fpm on a cool day. Worst case is 300-400 fpm loaded on a hot day. I cruise at 105-110 depending on how heavy we are. If you are flying heavy, you will get nowhere near redline. At least that's my experience.

Have you had the tach checked? I found an error or 75 RPM in my tach. It was reading low ie. 2575 equalled 2500 indicated.

My concern is not so much related to airspeed . My concern is that the engine is rated at 2575 Max RPM and I can't approach that performance. Never had a plane that required throttle firewalled to get 70% power.
