Thanks for the response. So 85mph @ 2350 is normal with that prop. It does tend to run hot but, I noticed recently I need to do some baffle clean up

With a 46” pitch, I’d be careful of overspeeding the engine. Your prop is made for climb, not speed. If climb is not quite so critical, you can have the prop repitched to 7148. That’s a great compromise and will give you a better cruise and 2575 without straining the engine.

I saw this post and it is very similar to what I see. I have a sensenich W72GK which has 46" pitch. My cruise is consistent 85mph @ 2350 rpm. When I increase the throttle all the way I can reach 100mph @ 2575rpm but, that is with throttle wide open. Plus oil temp starts to bump up to 220 (maybe more if I left it). I know I have some baffle sealing to work on but, the speed thing keeps me confused. I'm flying out of Minnesota so 4500 is generally the highest I go.

New to the Ercoupe club! This has nothing to do with the subject, except that I was born in Port Clinton, Ohio October 6, 1941!

Remember AD 2012-8-06 requires the airspeed calibration be verified at least every four years.

Right you are, Henry. And I almost strictly go by GPS ground speed once I’m at cruise.
So with my 7148 prop turning my C85 Stroker I consistently get 117-118 mph at 2575 RPM in wind neutral tests. (Flying triangles.)
