My favorite is Derk Kingrey, listed in this publication. His address is Brookville, but the shop is at Hartzell/Piqua. You could also try the guys down at Middletown, at Hook field, via Kurt Yearout, at the old home of Skyport. The mechanics are still there. Have your TAC checked to see if it is OK. Even new ones have been known
to be off up to 200RPM.....have been there!!!

The Type Certificate Data Sheet E-233 shows maximum continuous power and take off power to be the same 85hp at 2575rpm for the C85-12. There are a few other models that have a 5 minute limit for take off of 87hp at 2600rpm. I believe these are all the fuel injected models.

Bill:
WOW - I can't believe your engine is still together - or your tach is grossly wrong. Spec for
C85 is 2575RPM with a max of 5 minutes @ take-off - which gets the 85 brake horsepower. May call you later today. First thought you had a typo but then you were consistent with wrong most significant digit.

Need help. My Ercoupe 415-C has a C-85 engine. The specs call for the engine to turn 5575 max RPM. Mine will turn only 3500 to 4000 max at full throttle at 1500 MSL. This max is approximately what specs call for on the C-75 engine. I have done the following.
Carb rebuilt to proper specs for C-85 engine
Have new prop 7150 pitch (cruise prop)
Engine compressions all mid 70's
Mixture line checked to ensure carb can be opened full
Exhaust checked
air intake checked

My plane has the 2 15 gallon wing tanks, no header tank. Carb set for fuel pump supply rather than gravity feed.
Can anyone help or give me a Shop who knows Ercoupes that I can call . OHIO

Thanks
