I would check the leading edge with your thumb for corrosion holes where the bubbles
were. The fabric should be tight at all times, reguardless type of covering. What you have
is a very serious problem which could lead to fabric failure and seperation from the wing.
Check into the wing, leading edge area, if needed add inspection holes to see what is
going on. You might have some serious problems. I would not fly it until I have it corrected.

I have 1946 Coupe C/D N91N, overall great shape and super flyer, fabric wing etc. Plane roles to the right in flight and I suspect it is caused by the leading edge fabric on the left wing bubbling up off the metal leading edge in flight. On the ground it is smooth and tight but once airborne it has uneven bubbles up and down the length of the wing. The right wing does not bubble. Anyone got ideas how to fix without recovering the wing?
