The MS28775-328 is not correct for the brass bushing(the long version).
The -328 is too large in OD and cross-section.
The correct O ring is an AN6230B3 which crosses to an MS28775-225.
The other 3 O rings are correct for the piston/cup assembly called inner plug in the Ercoupe Parts Catalog, p/n 415-34316.

Page 20 of the EPC omits a washer that is present on the rod. It appears between the lower end of the spring and the inner plug.
Do not depend on the EPC or any Ercoupe publication to be dead accurate by today's standards.

Thanks Ronald, I am sure that yours is the same strut as mine since there are 4 O rings in total.
My strut uses a forged aluminum dual fork and is on serial #4375.

I can now move ahead. I think I can find the MS numbers locally.

I recently re-built my nose gear strut. I have no idea if it is the same as yours, but here are the O-rings I used.
MS28775-328 (AN6227-31)
MS28775-215 (AN6227-20)
MS28775-220 (AN6227-25)
MS28775-114 (AN6227-12)

Hello William:
Lynn's suggestion is correct for a very late style nose gear strut. I have such a strut on s/n 4375. There are 2 snap rings at the top and you will run into one more on further disassembly.

I need the 3 O rings in the strut but using the part numbers in the Ercoupe parts catalog from Univair I was told by Univair parts they are not good numbers. Have you tracked down the AN numbers ?
There is also a large O ring inside the brass bushing at the bottom of the outer strut sleeve. Again Univair could not help on that one.

I am waiting for a reply from Vern Gregory, Skyport.

Lynn - jump in if you have this info. Thank you.

John

Hey Don: There should be a snap ring (or two) inside that need to be removed in order to pull the insides out the top.

Does anyone know how to take apart the nose gear strut to replace the seals? We cannot get the inner tube far enough up to expose the 4 screws to get the plunger out.
Don
