FWIW Eisemann mags came on the 415C and did not use shielded plugs, hence no bumps or holes in the cowl. I like
the smooth clean look and cringe at putting eyebrows on it
There aren't many Ercoupes left with smooth cowls.

To Ronald: Yep. A good looking plane.
To Kevin:
Apparently I wasn't clear. I am an American and bound by FAA rules.
I was hoping someone knew of an unshielded alternative to the M41E that could keep the FAA happy.

The original Ercoupe didn't have spark plug eyebrows.   I like the lines.

“ Surely there is a plug that can be cross-referenced to it or a reasonable USA alternative to the overpriced Champion M41E.”

And has VALID STC or is an approved plug per the Continental type certificate data sheet!

You and your Canadian owner maintenance is going to get someone here into deep doo doo with our FAA.

I can point you to plug adapters that will enable the use of cheap automobile spark plugs. No STC, and NOT authorized.

What you can do with your Ercoupe would get ours grounded by the FAA.
