depending on the STC, some say you can keep the screen, others require it to be removed.

it appears this shop wasnt aware that the correct mounting location is on the place reserved for an oil cooler, and that the STC calls for removal of the original oil screen, but then the filter adapter is mounted where the oil cooler blocking plate is located in my plane. Does this sound correct?

Problem is that the shop ordered the 08-00631 and it isnt the right one when they are fitting it; so he thinks possibly the 01038 version will work. I will look at the F&M that Larry is suggesting too. Thanks guys,

I’ve had the F&M adapter since 2006 and 1500+ hours, no problems. It’s now sold by Stratus (ironic name). This doesn’t answer your question but it’s a data point.
