C85-12 Camshaft

Hi Shawn, the pump cam lobe is at the very front of the Cam just behind the the round end, call it a bearing surface. Should a space on both side of the pump cam lobe. Where the lifter lobes are more evenly spaced. And the dwell on the fuel should be more rounded that the Intake and  Exhaust.    ( dwell it the opening to closing time .)

I would think there would be a casting number reference or service bulletin, but I don't recall seeing one. I have 3 cams I can check the casting numbers on and see what they have.

I assumed that was the part number.
If you were handed a camshaft, knowing it came from a TCM, how would you know if it was from an O200, A65 or whatever?

40584 shows as being the only camshaft for the C-85, which would cover all models, the fuel pump cam is there, just not used in most engines. the cast number on the camshaft most of the times have nothing to do with the actual part number. Have you looked thru all the service bulletins ? there might be some information in there.

The engine I have for my project is a C85-12. 
I now have the case split and the crank & camshaft removed.
The motor came from a high wing, gravity fed, bird. The camshaft is a 24231 (stamped on it). That number is not found in the parts manual. The manual names I think a total of 5 types of camshafts with 40584 being identified as an A75/C85 side fuel pump or none.
There is a lobe that looks like it would serve a fuel pump, but how can I be sure I have the right camshaft for a pump driven fuel system?
Or is there no difference? Was 24231 superseded or something?
