Servicing the knee joint was created by Charlie Quandt
While I was replacing the tubes and tires on my 415C, I took the time to measure the side to side play at the main wheel axle.
The service manual say's "Upper and lower legs of gear require no special maintenance except bearings and bushings at knee joint and oleo strut attachment". That's not very helpful!
I think it would be a good idea to order some new bakelite bushings and lockwashers before I take these assemblies apart.
But, what size socket should I modify with four notches to fit the nuts and what final torque should I set before crimping new lockwashers?
Anyone know of a You Tube on this topic?
