Carb leaking gas C85

My aircraft a 1946 Coop with a C85 was leaking gas from the front side of the carb when I went to check the oil after a short run. It was leaking with the engine off of course. It started hard today and was missing some, static run up was only 2100 with a cruise prop, what does this sound like, a gasket, an overfill or what? Any help would be welcome as this is a newly purchased plane for me and with it acting up, don't know what to look for.
