Wood prop

Marvel Shebler carb? My 150 had that, I am still working on learning all the nooks and crannies on Tweety.

After I get done with this $10,000.00 annual I am currently in and rebuild my bank account then possibly. What is the cost on doing that? My goal is to lighten the aircraft as much as possible first, does bumping up to an 85 add weight? If so how much vs any gains?

Right now Tweety comes in a lot hotter on landing than my old 150 does and I can't do the "impossible turn" that I could in the 150. Basically Tweety's a bit of a hot rod. I do love the 900 fpm climb on a hot day with Density Altitude of 2506 tho.

The costly thing in upping HP is the Carb work.

Mac, the first thing to do is to up your HP to 85. Then go to a 51 pitch you are not high ASL to need a climb prop. Wish you were closer I would let you use one to try out with your 75.

On this topic and being a complete newbie on prop pitch I am looking to change to wood and find a prop that has both decent climb and cruise. Is there a chart? I currently have a C-75 with a McCauley pitched for climb and even on a hot summer day at 500 ft ASL on the ramp I climb at 900+ fpm but my cruise is about 85-90 mph. Can someone clue me in on a wood prop that can be decent in both climb and cruise? trying to lighten the load so I can carry more than an iPad with my wife and I.
