Shawn, $13.31 sound like the inner cable only. I have both starter an both !5 amp and 35 Amp gens when you need them $$ have no idea what they are going for. Warren

Hi Matt,
My apologies, I should have stated this is for my restoration Ercoupe. It came without an engine. The C85 I found had no starter, no generator, no tach cable.
So, I am not replacing one, I just need one, period. That's why I can't even determine rh or lh thread, length, etc.
The engine is on a test stand 30mi away from the fuselage.
Sorry for the confusion.

are you sure you need to replace the cable ? it might need to be cleaned and re-lubed, disconnect it at both ends and remove the core, clean the core, spray solvent thru the housing and then dry, lube the cable and reinstall.

Thanks Matt.
when I copy the part number and search Univair shows this $13.31 part. I think the only other part I have seen at Univair that cheap was a washer....Is that all I need? When compared to the 5 that show up in the link you shared, it is roughly 1/10th the price...
I've never had to buy a tach cable before, they were always there already. I had no idea there was so much to consider.
Thank you!
