My 415C had a C75 when I bought it. Performance was kind of weak. It WAS a high time engine. I had it overhauled in 2006, upgrading it to a C85 with the O200 crankshaft STC. Big change! I have never had less than a 500 fpm climb rate except for a couple of 90° days fully loaded with Oshkosh camping gear. My cruise speed varies from 105 to 110 depending on how heavy I am. I have a 7149 on it. It flew ok with the 75 but if I were to buy another (which I’m not) I would pretty much have to have a souped up C85.

My 415C has the 75 hp with fabric wings. Virtually all of my flights are
with two people plus stuff. Take-off is airborne before the 1000' mark.
Call it 900'. Climb is 400'+ depending on outside temp. Cruise is
95-100 mph, more on the rare flights without my co-pilot. Max altitude was a struggle to 9000'. For Las Cruces New Mexico
convention wanted more altitude. Changed the prop from a 7351 to
a 7347. Climbs easily to 11,000' with cruise speed and climb rate
essentially unaffected. Performance numbers I gave were with the
7347 prop. I like the 75 hp engine. Does similar to the 85 hp on less rpm and with better gas milage. Do wish it climbed faster (doesn't
everyone?)

Probably selling my ERcoupe 415E with a high time C85-12F engine.  Considering a very nice looking 1946 415C with a C75-12F engine, LSA 1320 GW with fabric wings.  My ERcoupe has the Metalized wings.  Just curious of performance difference between these engines?  I particularly in take-off and climb performance?  Any comparisons will be appreciated.  Thanks
