Patrick,
That is a beautiful interior in your plane. Red and grey combos r always attractive.
Was wondering if u know how much weight the interior added? I have a nice interior of fabric but my plane has a very low useful load of 456 lbs. It came with a C-90, wheel pants, two giros and suction pump. New avionics will help, but still looking for ways to reduce wt. Gyros will be replaced by digitals.
Chris,
U mite also consider the Microair radio and xpndr. They fit in a 2 1/4" hole, r 7.5" deep and only weighs 19.4 oz. It is abt half price of a Becker and works just as well.

Patrick, that is a beautiful plane! I always assumed that Forneys all had rudder pedals. Glad to see that that is not true.
Cheers!

Chris -
I also have a 1959 F-1 (SN 5676) and just redid the interior: goo.gl/photos/x73uBjPuqVnBztJa8
Just like you I am also considering a radio swap. Have you made a decision yet?
The Becker looks like the best option, but I need to check if I have enough clearance behind the panel.
Anyway, here is my contact info and I look forward to hearing from you.

I don't know how much room you have but look at the Becker. They fit in an instrument size hole. I bit pricey but small and certified.
