I am not arguing with you, but if you bring up the FAA list of certificated aircraft eligible for LSA status, the Ercoupe C and CD is listed there along with almost all Piper high wings , etc. I took this to mean that the 415-C could be flown as a LSA.

Ercoupes are not light sport aircraft. They are standard category certificated aircraft. They just happen to meet all the requirements that allow them to be flown by light sport pilots.

Your airplane needs to be registered like any other certificated airplane, and maintained accordingly.

I am told that my newly acquired Ercoupe (N947I6 ) cannot be registered as an LSA because the AW cert on file is listed as normal. Well so do 90% of Ercoupes. The 415-C is on the list of eligible aircraft for LSA registry. How do I get around that?
