I think the best answer is it depends. IF your trim is rigged and operating properly in accordance with the maintenance manual, the proper position for take off should be approximately 1/3 the way forward from the full nose up position. I find most of the trim's are not working properly due to lack of lubrication, corrosion, or improper rigging.

I just keep my trim lever in the middle. I do not use trim for takeoffs or landings, it's more trouble than it's worth. The controls on the plane are so light that it's really not a problem at all. I only use trim to set the nose in the right place for cruise at a particular speed and loading.

While in flight, trim for maximum rate of climb at full power. Mark that position.

Mine has no markings either. Fellow I bought it from suggested full
back or full up trim for takeoffs and landings. I've used this and
it seems to work well.

My 415C no longer has the plate showing the "take off" position for the trim lever. What is the suggested setting for the trim tab itself for take off? Once I know that I can identify the position in which to place the trim lever to achieve that setting.
