The actual torque is marked on the filter. At least it is on the ones I buy. Regards, Larry

I have no clue what the actual torque value is, but once the gasket touches the face of the adapter just turn it another half turn. I get annoyed when shops make oil filter so darn tight! They don't need to be. And your oil filter is safety wired to boot. Make it easy on yourself the next oil change and make the filter snug, not tight.

Hello,

I have a question I'm hoping those of you more experienced wouldn't mind sharing. I'm new to the Ercoupe and new to owning a continental 0200 in one. I'm about to change the oil for my first time and I'm trying to find the torque specs for the filter but it is proving harder to find online than I thought. Can someone validate the one setting I did come across which was 17-18 in/lbs. If anyone knows differently please let me know.
