Wing Tank repair

Thanks for the information. I finally Prosealed mine and they are doing OK. I have a couple of tiny seeps, but so minor that I will not pull the tanks for them.

I know this is an old post. For Alon/M10 welded tanks, I understand Safe Skies at Middletown OH ((513) 217-5141) now repairs the tanks.

This repair ability happened rather recently...

Thanks for the reply. We have since sealed the existing tanks, repainted, and reinstalled them. After 18 months, the M-10 is flyable and has had a maintenance test flight. Hopefully the shop will release it to me for flight this coming week.

Skyport repairs riveted tanks but not welded tanks. They do have a set of M10 tanks for sale though.

Finally gave up finding someone to repair the wing tanks. We cleaned the tank as best we could and used an external seal. It sealed well and I repainted them today. When the paint is cured, we will pressure test both tanks and if they test OK, they will be re-installed and we can put the interior and the rest of the airplane together. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.

Called Skyport (again) and they said the guy that did their tank welding wasn't there any more so they no longer repaired tanks, even though their ad in Coupe Capers clearly says they do. Dang.
I am also looking for the fresh air vents for the M10.Univair lists them but does not have them. I called Vernon at Precision Services, thinking they were the same as the Alon A2A but it seems they are not. If anybody knows of an M10 being parted out, let me know as there are some of the plastic parts I need so I can use the existing ones for templates to make new ones out of carbon fiber.
