The Ercoupe panel isn’t hard. 3 Garmin GI 275s will replace almost everything. You could dismantle the old one and just copy it.

I just purchased old stock pieces for my Alon to duplicate from Vernon Gregory to keep my aircraft in service while I fabricated their replacements.

The 3 piece Alon center panel is more difficult. The center panel requires bending and TIG welding to fabricate the replacement The outer panels are simple

I have been thinking about cleaning up the panel in my Ercoupe. It's not only ugly, which I could live with since ugly is cheap, it's also hard to see the instruments way off to the side.

Instead of purchasing the blank panel from Univair for $450, I'm thinking of laying a piece of blank aluminum over the entire panel, and cutting new holes where I want them.

Is that what you meant when you said "reface" the panel? How hard is it?
